I purchased a groupon later to find out that my vehicle didn't meet the specifications of the offer. When it came to pay for the services, I was told that "Nissan requires synthetic oil to be used." I feel as though if this were the case, knowledge and experience dealing with a fairly common car, my 2014 Nissan Altima, this information would have been known when I first called to inquire about specifics surrounding the deal. I called to specifically ask if my car would qualify after not being able to find the specific information in my owners manual. At that time I was told that most vehicles qualify for the offer, but they would need my vehicles VIN to be sure. This is hard to believe seeing as how when it was time to pay, "Nissan (an extremely popular car brand) requires synthetic oil to be used." I feel cheated, and feel as though the groupon was a way for this place of business to get my attention, and be slighted after the services had been performed. I will not be using this company for future services or groupon deals.
Adam, We are sorry that you were unsatisfied with your service appointment. While you are correct, we do use Groupon as part of our marketing strategy, we are not here to take advantage of anyone. With manufacturers constantly changing models, sub-models and engine specifications, it is more important than ever to use manufacturer recommended oils in their engines. For that reason, we wait until the vehicle is in the shop to verify VIN information. At that time, if anything other than conventional oil is required by the manufacturer, we communicate with the customer before starting the actual service. Once again, we apologize that you were unhappy with your service. Thank you for bringing to our attention that the Groupon ad seems to be unclear. We will reach out to them in an attempt to resolve your concern. -Cooper's Automotive
